MULTISAUND : MULTI lingualism Integrated to Speech and Audio UNDerstanding
BRIDGING MULTILINGUAL TECHNOLOGIES
The Multimedia Technologies Research and Development Laboratory (MTRD), Kocaeli Turkey has granted 959,671€ for its European Union 7th Framework Programme REGPOT (REGional POTential) 2008-1 project (MULTISAUND).
MULTISAUND is being coordinated by Chief Researcher Mehmet Ugur Dogan of National Research Institute of Electronic and Cryptology (a renowned research institute of TUBITAK, Scientific and Technological Research council of Turrkey) .
Objective:
With the provided opportunities of MULTISAUND, MTRD aims
• To bridge different nations to a greater solidarity and mutual understanding by activating multilingual automatic systems including Turkish .
• To increase its existing scientific and technological capacity of MTRD in speech and language technologies.
• To improve MTRD's existing know-how in an efficient way and by leading to new joint research opportunities .
• To enhance the awareness towards interactive speech and language technologies and its visibility through dissemination activities.
• To become a renowned research group aiming to make Turkish a part of the European technology market and European Research Area.
